I have practiced family law since I returned to Bay County 20 years ago. We are pleased to offer representation in all areas of family law. Often, it is helpful to have a consultation before you are sure of whether you need representation.
For instance, I recommend that clients entering a second marriage consider prenuptial planning – particularly if either party has children from prior relationships. Many times, premarital planning may require adjustments to estate planning, with which we are also able to assist our clients.
In many instances, we have been pleased to assist clients with private adoptions. In these days when so many grandparents are rearing their grandchildren, we are able to assist our clients with documents authorizing them to make decisions and grant authorizations necessary for the needs of the children.
Of course, we handle uncontested and contested divorces; injunctions; and child custody, parenting, timesharing, support and relocation matters. In addition, we handle other family-related matters such as grandparent’s rights, parental decision-making, limitations on contact with non-parents, emancipations and adult adoptions. In the Fourteenth Circuit – Bay, Gulf, Jackson, Calhoun, Holmes and Washington Counties – certain Pre-Trial Orders are in effect that require compliance with certain steps. You should be aware of these Orders before taking any action that may violate these Orders and compromise your case or position.
